What Kind Of Time Clock Is Right For Your Company?
Let’s just get one thing out of the way here right from the beginning. With very few exceptions, a Bundy clock isn’t the kind of time and attendance system that businesses need to keep current and remain competitive as their business rivals continue to modernize their operations. Certainly, if your company has only a handful of long term, trusted employees then one of these punch clocks may be perfectly fine. However, for every other business (as in, just about all businesses), a more advanced kind of time clock is in order instead of these older attendance systems.
Of course, even if you know that there are alternatives out there which are better than a punch clock, you may not know what these options are or how they work – or even how exactly they can benefit your business. There are a few different kinds of electronic clocks for you to choose from and depending on the type of business you’re in and the way that your company currently takes care of employee time and attendance, different models will be more or less suitable for your needs.
Portable Options
If you’re the owner or manager of a construction or other type of contracting business and frequently deal with employees and subcontractors on remote job sites, then a rugged and durable yet highly accurate portable time clock is likely to be the answer. Solving the traditional problem of keeping accurate attendance information on the job site, these clocks are a great (and money saving) option for contractors and others who do much of their business on the go.
Time Clocks With Some Security Features
Time clocks which uses a PIN code or smart card-based proximity sensor is a good choice for small and medium sized businesses who are concerned about employee time theft and the security of their office, manufacturing plant or warehouse, but not so much so that they absolutely require the foolproof identification of a biometric time clock or for that matter, a biometric access control system. These clocks offer all the accuracy of other time clocks, can integrate with accounting software and even be used as an access control system when combined with cameras, sirens and/or other accessories.
Biometric Time And Attendance
A biometric time clock provides companies with all of the benefits of a PIN code or proximity sensor-enabled CS clock along with an even higher level of security – it’s a lot harder for an employee or an intruder to fake a fingerprint than it is to steal an ID card or even a PIN code, after all. If security from both external threats and from employee time theft is a serious concern for your company, then a biometric clock is definitely the way to go.
The right time clock can do a lot more than help you add up time and attendance data for payroll – they make your company safer and more profitable at a very reasonable cost. If you’re not already using one of these clocks instead of a Bundy clock, it’s time you started to look at some better options for your firm.
