What’s The Right Time Clock For Your Company?

Time For ChangeIf you’re reading this right now, chances are that you already know that it’s time that you retired your mechanical punch clock and started using something a little more advanced that offers you a fuller feature set and makes your company’s time and attendance system easier to deal with. There are too many reasons to make the switch to go into in the limited space we have here, but suffice it to say that the thousands of firms all over Australia and indeed, around the globe who have started using a CS time clock or a biometric clock look back on it as a very sound decision.

There are several types of clock you could choose from and in order to make the right choice for your firm, but it’s important to learn a little about your options and what each type of clock has to offer. In the interests of helping you make your decision a little easier, read on for an introduction to some of the time and attendance solutions on the market.

Bundy Clocks

You know them, you may even like them – but regardless, it’s time to move on. Bundy clocks don’t really offer much in the way of features, they require regular maintenance, time cards and ribbons and they provide your firm no protection from employee time theft. They’re also not always terribly accurate; there’s really no reason to keep using one of these older clocks.

CS Clocks With Proximity Sensors

These time clocks work using individually assigned cards which are given to each employee and are used to clock in and out for the day.  If you also have a biometric access control system in use at your facility, these cards are also used when entering or exiting the building. The time clock has a sensor which reads the cards and allows the employee to clock in (and/or enter the building or restricted area, as the case may be).

CS Clocks With PIN Systems

These clocks are a good choice for smaller businesses (though they’re available in configurations which support up to 1,000 unique PIN codes). They’re not as secure as a fingerprint based system, but they are accurate, reliable and can greatly reduce employee time theft or eliminate it entirely as well as keep your facilities more secure.

Biometric Time Clocks With Fingerprint Based Access Systems

This is a style of time clock which requires employees to clock in and out using their fingerprints; something which cannot be faked or swapped amongst your staff. Not only can these clocks eliminate time theft, they also make it next to impossible for unauthorized personnel to enter when used along with a biometric access control system. If security is mission critical to your company, then this may be the right choice for you.
