Time Sheets Belong In A Museum, Not In Your Business

Have you ever wondered if there was a better, more efficient method of tracking time and attendance than those decidedly last century time sheets your business is using now? Maybe you already know about biometric technology and its application in time clocks and access control systems; you may even have read about the many advantages that these systems have to offer. However, you may have also thought that it’s something that your small or medium sized business couldn’t afford or perhaps you’ve thought that your company really wouldn’t see the  benefits that other companies have from their use.

As it happens, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it’s much more accurate to say that your business can’t really afford not to adopt this new time and attendance technology and finally say goodbye to those old, handwritten time sheets which you currently use. Regardless of the size of your business or what industry you’re in, there are significant financial savings you’ll be able to enjoy by installing a biometric system to replace your Bundy clock or any other less accountable attendance tracking solution your business may happen to rely on at the moment.

It’s more accurate and traceable than time sheets

Time sheets may get the job done, but when it comes down to it, they’re not an accountable system. Essentially, a hand written time sheet where employees write down their own times of arrival, departure and breaks is a sort of honor system approach to tracking time and attendance. It’s all too easy for an unscrupulous employee to put themselves down for hours they haven’t actually worked – and of course, it’s almost impossible to track this kind of malfeasance on the part of your staff. While of course most of your employees wouldn’t intentionally do this kind of thing, it can easily happen by accident as well; and of course, if your payroll personnel have a hard time reading someone’s handwriting, this can also cause costly mistakes in payroll calculations.

With a biometric time and attendance system, employees clock in using a unique PIN code or their fingerprint, for even more advanced attendance accounting. It’s a system which eliminates all possibility of time theft, whether intentional or accidental – and it can save untold headaches for your bookkeeping staff, as well as freeing up some of their time so they can focus on other important work to keep your business moving forward and growing steadily.

You just don’t have that kind of assurance of accurate, fair employee time and attendance with time sheets or a Bundy clock; nor do you have the kind of savings which are one of the most important benefits of using a biometric system to replace your time clock or other antiquated attendance system.  The cost is much lower than you may think and the savings are, to put it simply, impressive indeed. If you’ve thought that your company couldn’t afford one of these systems, just think about whether you can afford to keep using those old time sheets in an ever more competitive world.
